Pre-trip checklist
Install official apps on every device and verify account status, plan, device limits, and recovery options. Keep MFA backup codes somewhere that does not depend on the same phone, and update each operating system.
Choosing a network after arrival
Prefer trusted mobile data or a personal hotspot. When hotel or airport Wi-Fi is necessary, verify the network name, complete its sign-in portal, and then establish the VPN connection.
Lost devices and unusual account activity
Enable a device lock, storage encryption, and a find-device feature. If a device is lost, use another trusted device to secure important accounts, then remove the lost device's online session from the account center.
